the mates of state show

Thursday night my sister Ashlea, her friend Sarah, my friend Hannah and I, all went to the Mates of State show at Northern. A group of college students called First-Aid Productions put the show together. When we got into the theatre or place they were playing we all bought American Apparel band shirts which were really cute. It was a few minutes still before the first opening band came on stage. Then they did, they were called This is Deer Country it was a guy and a girl duo from Houghton and I really enjoyed their music. They sounded like another band I like, Eisley. Their music was super chill and the girls voice was really pretty and soothing. After they played a few songs the crowd applauded and they left the stage. you could tell every one's anticipation was growing for the feature band(mates of state), but there was still on more opening band. I can't really remember what they were called but it was a mix between screamo and ska it was actually pretty good. The singer was hilarious and a great performer. We also had a spot right in front of the speaker and barely a foot from the stage it was great. After numbers of sound checks and adjustments Mates of State started their first song Fraud in the 80s one after another they just kept playing my favorites. In the end it was a great show! And I really enjoyed it.

negative campaigning

Due to the presidential election nearing closer, the candidates are becoming more and more competitive. Recently television ads regarding the candidates campaigns have been popping up regularly. Ads for the NRA ending with "defeat Obama" have made their appearance. And both McCain and Obama campaigns ads always announce something negative about the other candidate's plan of action and glamorize what they have planned for their future term, end with.."I'm _________ and I approve this message". I don't think this kind of campaigning is necessarily good..or bad I'm sort of on the fence in this situation.

my weekend

This weekend: Friday night was pretty chill i didn't do much. On Saturday my mom, my sisters Ashlea and Bailey and my brother Jared and I all drove to Iron Mountain, but we also went the longer way to go and see little towns on the way since my brother lives in Colorado Springs and he hadn't been to these little towns before. So we ended up going through Crystal Falls, MI Alpha, MI and Florence, WI . It was a lot of fun but lots of driving. Once we got to Iron Mountain we went and checked in to our hotel, then went to my grandparent's house and visited for a while. The next morning we had continental breakfast and soon checked out and went to have lunch with my family. After we drove around and did a little shopping. Soon it was about time for my brother to fly out we didn't get to take him to the airport my grandma and grandpa did because we had to get on the road to drive back to Ishpeming before dark. And my brother made his way back to Colorado.

To be independent and expressive, or to be treated like a door mat.

To be creative and bright, or to dull and boring.

To be helpful and supportive or not to be understanding.
